The newly-crowned EFL Cup winners went close to an early opener through an excellent effort from Curtis Jones but he was denied by the crossbar. But they wouldn’t be kept out for long and went ahead on 27 minutes when Divock Origi fed Takumi Minamino inside the area and he took a touch before blasting home.
And the Japan international staked his claim for a regular place with another emphatic finish at the far post after no Norwich player picked him up from a corner.
