Kidambi Srikanth will don the Li-Ning colours yet again after two years. The Chinese sports brand has signed the deal with the former world No. 1 men’s singles player.
A formal announcement is awaited. However, sources in Li-Ning have confirmed to Insidesport.co that the brand and Srikanth have signed on the dotted lines. Li-Ning has also started working on marketing creatives with the new face of the brand. Lin-Ning will be promoting the re-association as BEST back with the BEST with their tagline – Li-Ning : Anything is possible.
As part of the deal, Srikanth will support brand Li-Ning during practice and matches, except for the team events where Yonex is the official sponsor of the Indian badminton squad. However, even at the team events he will be supporting the Li-Ning logo on his racquet and shoes.
This will be Srikanth’s second stint with the Chinese badminton gear major. Li-Ning four years ago had inked kit sponsorship association with Srikanth and Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu. The deals then were facilitated by one of India’s leading sports business companies – Sporty Solutionz. Li-Ning had promoted its earlier association with Srikanth and Sindhu with “Be Here. Be the Hero” tagline.
InsideSport.co has reliably learnt that Li-Ning is also engaged in advanced-stage talks to get Sindhu back to the camp. Srikanth and Sindhu had returned to Yonex in March 2016 after having supported the Li-Ning colours for two successive seasons in 2014 and 2015.
