The right-handed batsman silenced all the critiques who questioned his form after the WTC Final following which he was dropped from the England tour because of his injury.

Fighting the odds, the 22-year old not just overcame his injury but also his poor form of the first leg of the tournament. In the seven matches of IPL 2021 in India, Gill had smashed 132 runs. His 48 run knock against RCB that was instrumental in handing KKR a convincing win came as a confidence booster for the young player.

Besides, the KKR player had started on his redemption journey that also sent a warning to the oppositions when Shubman Gill smashed a brilliant fifty during KKR’s intra-squad practice match ahead of IPL 2021 phase 2.

With this win, KKR have risen up in the points table and now rest at the fifth position. In the eight matches, they have three wins with six total points.
