In an interview in Toronto on November 20, Khabib spoke about how lucrative sponsorships with alcohol companies and betting companies can be. He even said other promotions exist only because of these deals.
However, Khabib then added, “But, I prefer to say no.” He then explained, “Because these kinds of things kill our generation. New generation, you know, young guys, you know, and I can not promote this in my platform.
“My platform, I created this platform only [for] sport. Like people, like fighters, like Athletes, they can come and compete.”
UFC News: Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor’s incident over alcohol
It is no secret that Khabib does not drink alcohol. He is a proud Muslim, and as per his religious beliefs, he does not indulge in alcohol. Many fans will remember the famous altercation with arch-rival Conor McGregor back in 2018.
During the press conference, Conor McGregor offered Khabib a taste of his whiskey. However, Khabib refused. This then resulted in McGregor giving the Russian a piece of his mind.
