This has a lot of impact as it comes after Paul’s upcoming fight against Hasim Rahman Jr. was cancelled. The highly anticipated bout was cancelled because Rahman Jr. was having some trouble cutting down to 205lb at which the fight was originally scheduled.

It is suggested that Hasim Rahman Jr. deceived the contract which was signed at 200lb and asked to make it 205lb instead. However, he failed to be on tract with the weight cut which resulted in the fight falling through.
As Jake Paul now waits for a new opponent, Oscar De La Hoya has made him a mouth watering offer.
The boxing legend sympathized with Paul for his fight falling through and urged to get his Golden Boy Promotions behind the promotion of a potential matchup between ‘The Problem Child’ and Nate Diaz. He took to Twitter to say:

It is worth noting that Nate Diaz is currently set to fight Khamzat Chimaev in September. This fight will be the one on Diaz’s contract post which, he will be free from the UFC.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Nate Diaz’s future after his contract with the UFC finishes and a lot of different options have emerged. However, the one which is talked about the most is a potential transition to boxing to face Jake Paul.
It will be interesting to see if Nate Diaz agrees to fight Jake Paul inside the squared circle when his contract with the UFC gets done in about a month’s time or not.
