Italian Open 2021: Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Matteo Berrettini, Head-to-Head, records & stats, LIVE stream- World Number five Stefanos Tsitsipas will be up against ninth-ranked Matteo Berrettini in the third round of the 2021 Italian Open on Thursday. Tsitsipas got to the 3rd round after defeating Marin Cilic 7-5 6-2.

In the 2nd round, Tsitsipas had a good straight-sets win against Cilic (7-5 6-2). During the match, Tsitsipas scored 74 points vs Cilic’s 56. Tsitsipas was extremely aggressive to blast 33 winners. Talking about the service games, Tsitsipas blasted 3 aces and he committed only 2 double faults. Stefanos Tsitsipas was extremely efficient on serving to win 83% (33/40) of his 1st serve and 63% (12/19) on the second serve. This was the main reason for not conceding a single break during the match. Stefanos broke Cilic 3 times after converting 50% of his breakpoints (3/6).

Matteo reached the 3rd round after beating Nikoloz Basilashvili 4-6 6-2 6-4 and John Millman 6-4 6-2. In the 2nd round, Berrettini had a good straight-sets win against Millman (6-4 6-2). During the match, Berrettini scored 62 points vs Millman’s 47. Berrettini was extremely aggressive to blast 26 winners.

Tsitsipas won the only main draw meeting between these two which came at the 2019 Australian Open. Tsitsipas thrashed Berrettini in the first-round encounter in four sets.

There have been other matches too though, including one in the US Open qualifier in 2017 where Tsitsipas won as well and in exhibition tournaments like the Kooyong Classic and the Ultimate Tennis Showdown.

Earlier this year, they were supposed to play at the Australian Open but Tsitsipas progressed after Berrettini’s withdrawal.
