Bartholomew Ogbeche restored parity within the first half as Mohammed Yasir and Javi Siverio added to ATK Mohun Bagan’s misery. They will now have to win by two goals in the second leg, making it very difficult for the Mariners.

Juan Ferrando was very disappointed as he saw his team take the lead and then give it all away. When quizzed he shared how injuries and fatigue have played a big role in their downfall.
“I think I’m repeating but the team was tired, some injuries at the end and the substitutions were in relation to injuries. We changed the plan and then we made mistakes. We lost focus at the end. If you lose focus it leaves you open and gives great opportunities to Hyderabad FC,” Ferrando said at the press conference.
But when he was asked about injuries currently in the team Ferrando remained tight-lipped. “We will see, it’s difficult because we need a minimum of two-three days and then we’ll see what happens,” he replied.
ATK Mohun Bagan looked very confident at the start as Liston Colaco combined with Roy Krishna to hand the Mariners a great opening goal. But things started crumbling down when Bartholomew Ogbeche got that lucky goal right at the stroke of halftime. It gave the Nizams the big advantage going into the dressing room after a pretty drab first half.
It rejuvenated Hyderabad FC and spurred them on to score two more goals to completely deflate the Mariners. After the equaliser, their defence was never the same. Ferrando highlighted how losing possession in crucial areas made them concede the last two goals.
“In the first corner, they tried to make an offside but in the end that was not given. The second is two mistakes that resulted in the loss of possession,” added the Spaniard.
Lastly, the Spanish coach added how his team is only looking to win matches. Therefore he feels that ATK Mohun Bagan have the mentality to come back in the second leg against Hyderabad.
“It is like the game against Jamshedpur FC, we need to try to find solutions, and our mentality is to win. In the end, we need to change nothing. Our mentality is to win the next Wednesday and it is necessary when you of course it’s two zero. We will try to do our best,” Ferrando signed out.
