ISL 2020/21: SC East Bengal unveils first look of new jersey; Check Out

It took a while, but the eventual transition of SC East Bengal from the I-League to the Indian Super League has finally happened. The Bengal club on Monday unveiled its new jersey on its Instagram account. It wrote: “This historic Club, The Flame, The Fish, The Sunderbans and the Royal Bengal Tiger – should all be able to confidently say – Chhilam, Achhi, Thakbo!!!”

The new jersey is designed by Meghan Nayak. The home kit is similar with the iconic red and golden. The Away kit is now with a tiger print on it. As for the third kit, it will be white and reflect the people of Sunderbans. “What better symbol to invoke than the fierceness of the beast indistinguishably associated with Bengal? The pride, energy and power that the Tiger invokes, the uniqueness of its home – the Sunderbans, which protect our region from all sorts of environmental impacts and provide livelihoods to millions of people, was the perfect symbol for our third jersey designed by Meghna Nayak,” the club said.

SC East Bengal will kick-off their first-ever match in the Indian Super League (ISL) against reigning champions ATK-Mohun Bagan on November 27 at 7:30 PM at their home ground – Tilak Maidan, Goa.

The final fixture of the first-leg of matches for SC East Bengal will be played against Bengaluru FC at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao. SC East Bengal has a tough set of fixtures to begin the campaign with, but coach Robbie Fowler will be hoping that the players can put their best foot forward.
