Conor McGregor Set to Make Epic Comeback, Re-enters USADA Testing Pool

McGregor, one of the biggest stars in MMA and combat sports, is ready to make his highly anticipated comeback. According to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), McGregor will be re-entering their testing pool after over 18 months away from competition. 

USADA reported, “We have recently been in direct contact with Conor McGregor, and as he confirmed today in the media, we expect to receive his paperwork coming out of retirement and re-entering the USADA testing pool immediately. … McGregor will be subject to testing for at least six months and must provide at least two negative samples before being permitted to compete..”

USADA confirmed that they have been in direct contact with McGregor and his team. They expect to receive his paperwork to officially come out of retirement and re-join the USADA testing pool immediately. As part of UFC’s anti-doping program, McGregor will have to provide at least two negative drug test samples over the next six months before being cleared to compete again.

Conor McGregor’s last fight

McGregor last fought in July 2021 at UFC 264, where he suffered a gruesome broken leg in his trilogy match against Dustin Poirier. The injury has kept the Irishman sidelined since then as he recovered and rehabbed. Now, it appears “The Notorious” is ready to return to the Octagon and continue his quest to regain the UFC lightweight title.

The MMA world erupted at the news of McGregor’s imminent comeback. He remains by far the biggest star and draw in the sport, and his return will surely drive a surge in interest and financial opportunity.  Love him or hate him, McGregor’s presence undoubtedly moves the needle more than any other fighter. After a tumultuous few years, the “Notorious” one is set to claim his throne once again.
