With the onset, the Indian Premier League team owner will yet again be on active mode to give final shape to their respective squads. The next two weeks are going to be really hectic for the franchisee think tanks as they will be busy with various combinations and permutations to finalise their strategy for the player auction, slated for December 19 in Kolkata.
Defending champions Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings, the other finalists from the previous season, will be the two most sorted out franchisees going to the auction table, having already got their core team in place, while Royal Challengers Bangalore will have their task cut even as the best and most precious IPL talent Virat Kohli is on their ranks.
With 17 days to go for the IPL 2020 auction, Insidesport.co brings to its readers how the eight teams are positioned.
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS
The second most decorated IPL team, with three titles from 10 seasons, Chennai Super Kings have backed the experience over young legs for the shortest format of the game which otherwise demands youthful energy.
The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led squad will go into the next season with at least their 20 players from the previous season, including the veterans like Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Ambati Rayudu, Imran Tahir and Shane Watson, who all are on the other side of their 30s.
Skipper Dhoni with ₹ 15 crore package is the most expensive player in the side.
