Kohli had a lacklustre season in the tournament last time around in IPL as he managed to score 341 runs at an underwhelming average of 22.73 and a strike-rate of 115.98. However, the right-handed batter will look to turn things around this time. Kohli has had a decent time in the international arena since last year’s Asia Cup. The senior batter will look to play with responsibility as he holds a key to RCB’s success in the competition.

While run-machine Kohli had a bitter-sweet season with RCB in IPL 2022, veteran batter Du Plessis emerged as the leader run-getter for the Bangalore franchise. Du Plessis smashed 468 runs for the Kohli-starrer side in the IPL 2022.

Meanwhile, the 16th edition of the IPL will kickstart on March 31 with the first match being played between the defending champions Gujarat Titans and the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings. The opening match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
