Having done fairly well in their first season in the IPL, Lucknow Super Giants have struck with their core heading into the new season. KL Rahul will continue to lead the side which bears a similar look from last year, with a few potential additions in order.
Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey has been released after a dreadful show last year. Deepak Hooda showed promise at No.3 with a swashbuckling career best season and is set to continue in the same role.
Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis will make up the middle order. The latter was reported to be on the chopping block, but LSG have struck with the Australian hard hitter.

LSG failed to get the best out of Jason Holder’s all round capabilities and the West Indian has been released. The former WI captain will be in demand during the player auction in December. Other LSG releases see Andrew Tye, Ankit Rajpoot and Dushmantha Chameera let go.
With a sizeable budget left and a few chinks to fill, expect LSG to be busy on Auction Day on December 23. The likes of Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, Cameron Green, Nicholas Pooran could all be in contention for a pick.
