IPL 2023: Before the blockbuster start of the IPL 2023 season in Ahmehdabad on 31st March when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will go toe to toe against Gujarat Titans (GT) in their home ground in Narendra Modi Stadium, Delhi Capitals (DC) invited students to watch and enjoy their intra-squad practice game. Delhi Capitals were practicing for their first game of the season against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow on Saturday, 1st April. Rishabh Pant to attend DC match:

Meanwhile, Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) has invited Rishabh Pant to attend some DC matches. The DC captain is recovering from knee surgery after a horrific car crash in December. While he is missing the IPL, DC and DDCA want the superstar to be in the mix. DDCA has also promised to arrange a special ramp so that he can easily sit in the dugout with players.

“We are ready to host Rishabh Pant at the ground if he feels okay and Delhi Capitals allows it. We will take care of everything for him, be it picking him up from home or dropping him back. We will also create a special ramp till the dugout for his access,” Shyam Sharma told ANI.

About the 1st match of IPL 2023

The first match of the season will take place Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat, the home ground of Gujarat Titans. The pre-match opening ceremony will start at 6:00 PM IST where fans can see Arijit Singh, Tamannah Bhatia and Rashmika Mandanna perform.

The match will commence at 7:30 PM IST, where 4-time champions CSK led by MS Dhoni will go head to head against defending champions GT led by Hardik Pandya. GT have won both times they have faced each other.

DC’s missing members

Delhi Capitals is led by David Warner in the absence of their regular captain Rishabh Pant who is still in recovery after his car crash accident. Pant’s absence has made the middle order less bankable and more vulnerable but Pant is not the only player DC is missing.

South African bowlers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi are set to the 1st match for their team as they are scheduled to play an ODI series against the Netherlands which ends on 2nd April. DC will also be missing tricky left-handed Bangladeshi bowler Mustafizur Rahman who is also committed to playing till the 8th of April against Ireland.
