- As per the norm, the auction will begin with capped players.
- The IPL Authorities will break them up into different sets based on the specialisation.
- Few franchises have confirmed to InsideSport, the IPL listed the order as – batters, allrounders, wicketkeeper-batters, fast bowlers and spinners.
- The first set comprising batters will feature the likes of New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, Mayank Agarwal and Harry Brook.
- IPL Teams have already pledged SALARIES in total of 743.5 CR to the players.
- On Dec 23rd another 206.5CR will be showered on players
- This will take IPL SALARY total figure to 950 CRORE – Just 50 cr shot of magical 1,000 CRORE salary mark.
IPL Teams Player Purse: Sunrisers had the largest purse (INR 42.25 crore) for the auction, followed by Kings (INR 32.20 crore), Lucknow Super Giant (INR 23.35 crore), Mumbai Indians (INR 20.55 crore), Chennai Super Kings (INR 20.45 crore), Delhi Capitals (INR 19.45 crore), Gujarat Titans (INR 19.25 crore), Royals (INR 13.2 crore), Royal Challengers Bangalore (INR 8.75 crore) and Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 7.05 crore).

IPL Auction Registered Players – IPL AUCTION Rules: The final auction pool has been halved to 405 players from the originally registered 991, with a maximum of 87 slots available to be filled by the 10 franchises. Of these, 30 will be overseas players.
The TATA IPL 2023 Player Auction list is out with a total of 405 cricketers set to go under the hammer in Kochi on December 23rd, 2022.
Initially, a total of 369 players were shortlisted by 10 teams from the initial list of 991 players. Thirty Six additional players were requested by teams, which are added into the final list which makes a total of 405 players which will be presented at the TATA IPL 2023 Auction.
Out of 405 players, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players of which 4 players are from associate nations. The total capped players are 119, uncapped players are 282 and 4 from associate nations.
A maximum of 87 slots are now available with up to 30 being slotted for overseas players.
INR 2 crore is the highest reserve price with 19 overseas players choosing to be slotted in the highest bracket.
11 players are in the auction list with a base price of INR 1.5 crore. Manish Pandey and Mayank Agarwal are the two Indian players in the list of 20 cricketers with a base price of INR 1 crore.
The Auction will start at 14:30 IST.

IPL 2023 Auction Venue: BCCI has booked two floors of Grand Hyatt in Bolgatty island in Kochi for IPL Auction 2023. The mini-acution will be a 7-hour affair with an hour of break in between on December 23. Before the auction day, the franchises will meet with IPL governing council members on December 21. In this, the franchises will get some clarity on players’ availability. Another set of meetings will be on December 22 with broadcasters to have a mock auction.

For the first time, IPL will have two broadcasters. While Star Sports Network will live telecast IPL Auction, JioCinema will have IPL 2023 LIVE Streaming. Hence, there could be a change in proceedings. The team owners and a few support staff will reach Kochi on December 20-21.
