The likes of Cameron Green, Ben Stokes and Sam Curran are unlikely to fit their budget but the Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers have plenty of options to choose from. The Royals are in desperate need of one, having opted to play with five bowlers for most of last season.
While it did work out for Sanju Samson and Co in the end, the 2008 champions will hope for an all-rounder to add more balance to their side. The Royals have 13.20 crore left in their kitty and could target Jason Holder. The former WI skipper fills in the No.7 slot to perfection and is more than a valuable option with the ball in hand. Holder is capable of bowling four overs on most occasions and fits RR’s bill perfectly.
RCB and KKR will also have eyes on the 31-year-old pacer. The latter has the lowest budget in the auction and with Pat Cummins gone, find the need for Holder more. Andre Russell has blown hot and cold over the last few seasons, and Jason could more than makeup for the balance of the side.

While RCB would have eyes on Holder, they are likely to focus on a spin-bowling all-rounder following Maxwell’s injury. Sikandar Raza had a stellar T20 World Cup campaign and will be on the top of their list. Shakib Al Hasan, Michael Bracewell, and Mohammad Nabi are also options with international experience under their belt.
Shreyas Gopal is one of the leading options in the Indian contingent. An IPL veteran, Gopal’s experience and his ability to chip in with leg spin make him a valuable asset to have. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the 29-year-old scored multiple half-centuries batting as high as No.5 for Karnataka.
