“So, that’s where somebody like a Zampa or an Adil Rashid can come into the equation to find the leg spinner. So, all three aspects seems okay despite their performance last season. So, yes, a wrist spinner, they have let go of M Ashwin, they have a history of spinners, there was Markande with them, Rahul Chahar, they should never have let him go, he’s gone, so maybe an overseas spinner somebody like a Zampa or an Adil Rashid will be perfect for them,” Manjrekar said to Star Sports.

IPL 2023 Auction: Why does MI have Adam Zampa and Adil Rashid in mind? – Both Zampa and Rashid have truckloads of international experience. While the Australia leg spinner has played IPL before, Rashid has played only one IPL for Punjab Kings. The England leg spinner had a terrific T20 World Cup, picking up 8 wickets. Zampa is Australia’s number-one bowler in white-ball formats. Last season he topped the wicket-taking charts for Australia with over 50 wickets.
Zampa and Rashid have registered in the IPL auction with a base price of 2 crores. Among India leg spinners, MI can target Shreyas Gopal, Piyush Chawla, and Amit Mishra.
