Rilee Rossouw
Rilee Rossouw will be one batter on whom teams will be willing to place their bids. The South African power-hitter has been in terrific form in recent times. In the T20 World Cup this year, he finished as the highest-run scorer for the Proteas. He scored 141 runs from four innings, that included a century.
In the Big Bash League, playing for Sydney Thunder, he recently slammed 53 off 38 balls. Earlier this year when South Africa toured India for three-match T20 series, the southpaw scored a century off just 48 balls. A hard-hitter against pace and spin, the Proteas veteran could add some much-needed firepower to any team in the IPL.
He was the second most expensive player in the SA20 Auctions. Delhi Capitals’ sister franchise Pretoria Capitals paid the big bucks for him.
Nathan Coulter Nile
Australian pacer Nathan Coulter Nile will be one of the overseas pacers that might fetch big bucks in the IPL 2023 mini auction. Rajasthan Royals signed him for his base price of ₹2 crore in the auction last year. However, the senior pacer suffered a side strain in the first match and was ruled out of the competition.
After eight months since that injury, he finally made his return to competitive cricket at the Big Bash. He is in good form, having picked up 5 wickets in just two games.
Adam Zampa
Adam Zampa will be one spinner who is likely to attract bids. The leg-spinner is in good form in the current edition of the Big Bash League. Leading the Melbourne Stars, he has collected 5 wickets from just two games. He last played an IPL match in November 2020 and has registered his name in the IPL 2023 auction.
With the weight of experience in the limited overs format, Zampa could come in handy especially on spin-friendly pitches in India. Zampa has featured in 14 IPL matches in his career. He has picked up 21 wickets at an average of 17.62.
Daniel Sams
After a disappointing season with the Mumbai Indians in 2022, Australian all-rounder finds himself in the auction list ahead of the upcoming auction. Playing for the four-time champions, the all-rounder bagged 13 wickets in 11 matches. But his economy ended up on the high side of 8.81. He was also quite mediocre with the bat and managed to score only 38 runs at a strike rate of 105.56. He failed to impress the team management of Mumbai Indians as he was released ahead of the auction.
In the ongoing Big Bash League, he has fared well by taking seven wickets from just three matches. His all-round skills is likely to atrract bids in the upcoming IPL auction.
Jhye Richardson
Jhye Richardson made headlines when he was picked up for 14 crores in the IPL 2021 Auction by Punjab Kings. He played only three games but after the first leg of the IPL was postponed that year, he didn’t return for the second leg. He also decided to skip the last year’s IPL. However he is now back in the IPL auction list.
The pacer in in terrific form in this year’s Big Bash. He took a four-wicket haul conceding just nine runs in Perth Scorchers opening game of the season. In the second match, he picked up three wickets. He is expected to attract a good bid in this year’s auction.
