The southpaw was full of emotions as he sat in the Chepauk Stadium, reminiscing about CSK’s fond memories with the ground. The former New Zealand Captain gave a fitting caption to the post which read, “Excited to return to Champions den.” CSK will finally get to play at their home den after an agonizing wait of three years. IPL 2023 Auction: CSK CEO confirms Stephan Fleming’s absence from IPL 2023 auction, coach to join on a video call
CSK CEO has confirmed Fleming’s non-presence for IPL mini-auction. The coach will not travel to India due to the Christmas holidays. The southpaw though will be available on video conferencing as CSK prepares to plug the gaps in the auction.
“No, Stephen Fleming won’t be joining us for the auction. None of our foreign staff will be present in Kochi due to Christmas Celebrations. They will join by video conference,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told InsideSport.
Apart from Fleming, CSK won’t have Michael Hussey, assistant coach, and Eric Simmons as bowling coach for the IPL mini-auction. CSK had a mediocre IPL 2022 season, as it finished second last. With purse few big players bidding adieu, skipper MS Dhoni is setting sights to acquire Sam Curran. According to sources in CSK Camp, Dhoni has instructed team management to go big on Curran at IPL Auction.
‘With Bravo not around anymore, Curran should be the team overseas quick feels team management and especially Dhoni. He can bowl at the death and also chip in with the bat lower down the order’, said a source close to CSK team management.
