InsideSport.IN understands that Ahmedabad has finalised a deal with Rashid Khan. Earlier, it reported that SRH had levelled allegations against Lucknow for poaching the spinner.
Why Rashid Khan left Sunrisers Hyderabad?
Rashid Khan had informed SRH that he wants to be on the retention list only if he is paid Rs 14-16 Crore, the highest slab.
SRH is the only team that Rashid Khan has ever played for in IPL. The relationship started in 2017 and continued for 5 years.
Rashid’s salary was 4 Crore in 2017 & was increased to 9 Cr in 2018 and continued the same till 2021. He earned a total of Rs 40 crore in 5 seasons but felt that he fully deserved to be the top pick ahead of Kane Williamson.

“He was offered 12 Cr. The most he can get is 3-4 Cr more at the auctions. Why would anyone break 5 years of association for small money? Rashid is a very emotional person and comes from a humble background. He is not playing cricket just for money. He wants to win games for the team he plays for. Reason to leave is not just for a better offer but new team, new strategy, fresh atmosphere, a fresh challenge so that he can stay motivated,” said a source close to Rashid Khan and his agent as quoted by InsideSport.IN
