Virat Kohli, who has been on a lean patch in this edition of IPL, looked in fine touch on Thursday. He scored two boundaries off Shami early in the innings to get into the groove. He continued to find atleast a boundary in every over and has so far looked so good in his innings.
In the innings, he became the first batsman in the history of the league to score 3000 runs while chasing. David Warner is the next batsman in the list, having scored 2839 runs.

Kohli went on to register his highest score of the season as he scored 73 off 54 balls. With the knock Kohli also went on to score 7000 runs for RCB in his career.
His knock helped RCB register a crucial victory in the do-or-die battle as they won the match by 8 wickets to move to fourth spot on the points table.
