IPL 2022 Orange Cap Race: Jos Butler throws BIG-CHALLENGE to KL Rahul & Quinton De Kock, ‘Catch me if you can’

‘Catch me if you can’ says Buttler–

  • While both Rahul and De Kock will have their opportunities in the Eliminator, Butler took full advantage of the Qualifier 1 and scored a blistering 89 runs.
  • Buttler’s knock of 89 runs included 12 fours and two sixes as he missed out on a fourth hundred of the IPL 2022.

  • As things stand both De Kock and Rahul will need to put on a performance of highest quality to reach close gap to Buttler.

RCB could be the perfect prey for Rahul and De Kock –

  • The formidable LSG opening pair has the all necessary tools to damage RCB in the Eliminator clash, if they fire on all cylinders.
  • Both Rahul and De Kock put together a record 210-run opening stand against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which propelled them to come near Buttler.
  • RCB could be the perfect opponent for them as they Rahul and De Kock will face off against the likes of Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga.
  • There aren’t too many fond memories for the pair against RCB, in their only meeting this season they lost by 18 runs.

Rahul’s dangling form-

  • KL Rahul on a given day can be a nightmare to any bowler, but at times he has disappointed as well.
  • While Rahul has two hundreds and three fifties to his name in the IPL 2022, he has been dismissed on duck on three occasions as well.
  • The nature of inconsistency could be another factor in Rahul’s pursuit of the Orange Cap.
