Who all will be present at the event?
- Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra will attend the CEREMONY and will recieve 1 Crore from BCCI
- Besides Neeraj, Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dhaiya, Lovlina will attend the opening match of IPL at the Wankhede
- Most of the members of Men & Women Hockey teams are also expected to attend the ceremony.

BCCI to felicitate Tokyo Olympians: The lack of opening ceremony will be again once felt. But that won’t mean no glitz. The BCCI has decided that it will be felicitating a few members of India’s Tokyo Olympics contingent before the start of the IPL-opener.
Indian contingent won six medals in the Summer Games which was an unprecedented feat & the Indian board will felicitate few of the Indian athletes.
Why no IPL Opening Ceremony? This will be the fourth year in a row that BCCI will give opening ceremony a miss. Last time, when the gala opening ceremony took place to mark the beginning of cricketing extravaganza was in 2018.
- In 2019, the organisers decided to call off gala ceremony because of Pulwama massacre.
- BCCI skipped the opening ceremonies in 2020 & 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic & lockdowns.
- The board use to shell out more than 40-45 cr over these ceremonies.
- Due to the mishappenings in last few years BCCI decided to skip the OPENING CEREMONIES.
Since inception, the enthralling inauguration ceremonies of the IPL used to the event to watch out for. The IPL inauguration events left the audience mesmerised with performances by leading Bollywood stars and music icons.
But, since 2019, the IPL tournaments are being conducted without any opening ceremonies.
