As per the reports, two new IPL teams are likely to be added ahead of the IPL 2022 edition. While there are plenty of interests to get the franchise rights for the cash-rich tournament, Ahmedabad is the frontrunner with others fighting over a single spot which could be Trivandram.

With two new teams, the BCCI is also likely to increase the purse of the franchise from 85 crores to 90 crores, i.e, an additional 5 crores would be added to the budget of each franchise.

IPL New Format – How the new format from IPL 2022 will look like?

If a franchise retains three players, Rs 15 cr, Rs 11 cr, and Rs 7 cr would be the salary structure of those players, Rs 12.5 cr and Rs 8.5 cr if two players are retained; and Rs 12.5 cr if only one player is retained.
