- Played an uncharacteristic slow knock of 26 off 28 balls.
- He failed to get going against KKR bowlers, could not time the balls properly.
- He was responsible for three mix-ups with one ending up in Ambati Rayudu’s wicket.

Fleming said, the team is going through a transition period and it will take time to get into the rhythm.
“There’s going to be a bit of a transition period as we develop the relationship with Jadeja and also have MS there so you don’t just discard a player just because he doesn’t have the captaincy tag. You develop the new captain and work with the experience we’ve got, and thankfully we’ve got quite a bit of that. It’s a little bit of change, but we’ll work through that nicely,” Stephen Fleming said.

As for the match, Chennai Super Kings’ change in captain worked out poorly. MS Dhoni’s unbeaten half-century helped CSK post 131/5 but Ajinkya Rahane’s 44 ensured KKR chased the target easily with six wickets to spare at the Wankhede Stadium.
