The artist is 54-year old Shabbir Ahmed, who describes himself as a big fan of Virat Kohli drew the painting after seeing an image of the star couple in an advertisement. He decided to blend the art with Kashmir’s traditional Bhasoli art and 3-D image painting.

According to Shabbir it took six months for him to complete the portrait. “Whenever he plays, the whole of India knows that the country is going to win, and when he gets out, the match becomes one-sided; that is why I like him so much. That’s why I made this painting. It has taken me about six months to make this painting,” he told Brighter Kashmir.
Shabbir said that the main reason for him drawing the portrait is to promote Kashmir art globally and he wants the art to be seen by Kohli and Anushka. “Yes, I would like both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma to see this painting. This will give encouragement and support and that will be something that will give me recognition,” he concluded.
