Sanjay Bangar is in the commentator’s panel for the ongoing 2nd Test between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium & that’s where he dropped the hint. During the commentary, Bangar said that the retired players are interested in extending their association with the franchise.
Bangar said that if AB de Villiers reconnects with RCB as a batting coach, it will be a good thing for the players as well as the franchise.
The hint on AB’s return to RCB came in as a result of Aakash Chopra’s query. During commentary on StarSports, Chopra asked Sanjay Bangar what is the need for a batting coach for team India who already has a legend like Rahul Dravid as their head coach.
In reply, Bangar said, “So the head coach doesn’t have much time and the batting coach especially works on the shortcomings of the players in batting. Hence, every team needs a batting coach apart from the head coach.”
Meanwhile, RCB has named three retentions in Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell & Mohd Siraj for the upcoming IPL edition. And, it will be a delight for RCBians to watch Kohli, Maxwell & AB de Villiers reconnect – though in different roles. However, there’s no official confirmation from RCB.
