1. Rinku Singh
Following a seemingly never-ending wait, Rinku Singh finally got a chance to prove his talent and he did so brilliantly. The Kolkata Knight Riders batter scored 174 runs at an average of 34.80 and a strike rate of148.71.
Rinku’s father happens to be a gas cylinder delivery man, who still lives in his old shelter in a stockyard. While his son is now a household name and owns a three-storey house, he prefers to live in his native place.
“I told Papa to stay in the new house. But papa wants to stay here in the stockyard. He has been working here for 35 years so he is comfortable in this environment,” Rinku said about his father to The Indian Express.

2. Kuldeep Sen
Hardly anyone knew Kuldeep Sen’s name ahead of IPL 2022, but he has surprised everyone with his performances. The gun pacer, who has picked up 8 wickets so far, happens to be the son of a barber.
Speaking about his son’s incredible achievement, Kuldeep’s father said “It is like a dream come true. I used to scold and beat him a lot during his school days for cricket. But this cricket has given the name to my family. Whenever I beat him for cricket, he would say only one thing that cricket is his passion and dream.”

3. Kumar Kartikeya
Kumar Kartiyeka’s story is a lot similar to that of Kuldeep Sen. Life has changed overnight for him as well, as the son of a constable made four appearances for Mumbai Indians and also picked up 5 wickets.
“I told my father that I was going to play this match. He announced this in his entire battalion. They installed a projector. My dad watched the match on the projector. When I took my first wicket, everyone stood and clapped for him, and hugged him,” he said after his debut.
