IPL 2022: Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have begun their first training session ahead of the upcoming edition of the league, that kickstarts in Mumbai on 26th March, Saturday. A majority of the players, especially Indians, have joined the MI camp and the team released a video of the practice session on its social media handles on Wednesday. The video features the team’s head coach Mahela Jayawardene, welcoming all the players and motivating them to utilise the training session to the full. “Welcome. I know it’s first official session for lot of the guys. We got few guys who have been with us, rest of them are new. So make sure you get what you need to get out of a session.”

“It’s a talented unit. Looking forward to working hard. Enjoy the challenges, Enjoy the practices we will always keep pushing you. We have got great support staff around us, make sure you tap into them and get good advice. Ask them to keep pushing you. That’s important. Everyday is a learning, so enjoy that,” he concluded.

The video features players like Arjun Tendulkar, Basil Thampi, Jaydev Unadkat, Murugan Ashwin and other Indian players wearing the team’s training kit and practicing at the Jio Stadium in Mumbai. The team kickstarts the season on 27th March, Sunday, against Delhi Capitals at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
