Devdutt anchors the innings – Devdutt was seen anchoring the innings for the RR outfit as he and Ravichandran Ashwin were seen in good nick. While Ashwin got a fifty, Devdutt was slowly building up his innings and held on to one end. Devdutt’s innings consisted of two sixes and six fours, while missing out on a second fifty of the IPL campaign. He scored at strike rate of 160 and gave his team the much required fulcrum in the middle-order.

Devdutt dazzles alongside Ashwin – Surprisingly, RR decided to play Ashwin at number three, which proved to be a huge hit as he scored 50 off 38 deliveries. Both Devdutt and Ashwin put together a third wicket partnership of 53 runs and anchored the innings after the failure of the openers. They both steered the innings well, while scoring at a good rate to help the team reach a score of 160/6 in their 20 overs.

Have RR found the missing piece in the middle-order puzzle? – RR for the most of the campaign are having a superb season, despite odd losses. While the likes of Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal are doing their work with great efficiency with bat and ball respectively, their only concern was the middle-order. If Buttler fails to give a good start, which could have been a problem for the playoffs, in that scenario today’s game was good solution to have as their middle-order blossomed.
