  1. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) – Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan has made a name for himself in the domestic circuit as one of the most dangerous finishers in Indian cricket. A lower order batsman, Shah Rukh Khan has time and again shown his explosiveness for Tamil Nadu, and did have a short stint with the Punjab Kings last season. With MS Dhoni in probably his final IPL season, SRK could very well be roped in to plug that gap and be the team’s next finisher. The 26-year-old is a local lad, which will further augur well for the loyal fanbase.

2. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – Shreyas Iyer

Perhaps the biggest Indian name in the auction, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) could very well wage a war and get Shreyas Iyer on board. With the two-time champions in need for a new leader, Iyer perfectly fits the bill and could slot into the top order, which has seen the departures of Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi. At 27, Iyer could herald the new generation of Kolkata having impressed with his leadership skills at Delhi Capitals. KKR are known to go big to prise out a captain, having famously broken the bank to sign Gautam Gambhir in 2011.

3. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – David Warner

Virat Kohli’s resignation meant that RCB will also head into the auction looking for a new captain for their side. David Warner certainly fits the bill, having previously led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their only IPL success back in 2016, against Kohli’s RCB. Furthermore, the Bangalore-based franchise also have a vacany at the top of the order having lost Devdutt Padikkal, meaning a feisty opening combination of Virat Kohli and David Warner could certainly be on the cards.

4. Delhi Capitals (DC) – Devdutt Padikkal

Delhi Capitals will have a gaping hole to fill at the top of the order after their release of Shikhar Dhawan. With Prithvi Shaw already at the top, the Capitals could very well invest in yet another young gun, and add Devdutt Padikkal to their ranks. The left-hander from Karnataka has impressed mightily for RCB over the last two seasons, even outscoring Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, and could potentially fill out the void left by Dhawan.

5. Mumbai Indians (MI) –  Mitchell Marsh

Mitchell Marsh is perhaps the biggest draw in the All-rounders category in the IPL 2022 Auction. Marsh was pivotal in helping Australia win the T20 World Cup, and played his part in Perth Scorchers winning a fourth BBL title. With Hardik Pandya departing to Ahmedabad, Mumbai Indians could very well eye the Australian to fill up that vacancy in the middle order.

6. Sunrisers Hyderabad – Ishan Kishan

With David Warner gone and SRH desperate for a keeper batsman, one can expect the Orange Army to go heavy on Ishan Kishan. SRH had Jonny Bairstow for the past couple of seasons and would want to avoid alloting an overseas slot to the keeping position, meaning a huge chase for Kishan is likely. Kishan could also slot in at the top of the order for SRH or take one of the middle order slots and be one of the main pillars of the side.

7. Punjab Kings (PBKS)- Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan could be a good pick for Punjab Kings at the upcoming IPL 2022 Auction. Having lost captain and run machine KL Rahul to Lucknow, Dhawan could fill in that void and add his experience to the set up which was clearly lacking over the last coupleof years. Dhawan has been prolific in the IPL and has finished in the top five run-getters alongside KL Rahul, and could double up as a leadership option should Punjab opt for the same.

8. Rajasthan Royals (RR) – Washington Sundar

Rajasthan Royals have retained three top order batsman heading into thee auction and will be in desperate need to pack up all-rounders in the IPL auction. Having struggled to find Indian all-round alternatives, Royals are likely to break the bank and try and bring Washington Sundar on board, who will be available for grabs. A fine bwoler who could offer some runs down the order, Sundar could very well be the asset Royals were missing over the last few seasons.

9. Lucknow SuperGiants  – Kagiso Rabada

Having almost covered all bases with their retentions, Lucknow will now aim to add a champion fast bowler to their ranks in the IPL 2022 auction. With Kagiso Rabada up for grabs, the KL Rahul led franchise are very likely to chase the South African’s signature, who has previously played under Lucknow mentor Gautam Gambhir at Delhi. Marcus Stoinis, who was one of the retention picks, has also been Rabada’s teammate at Delhi and the Proteas ace could very well find himself at home.

10. Ahmedabad – Mohammed Shami

With Rashid Khan already taking up an overseas slot, Ahmedabad will aim to pack their pace attack with a lot of Indian names, with Mohammed Shami being the prime candidate up for grabs. The Indian speesters had a consistent couple of seasons with Punjab Kings and could very well lead the bowling attack, with his ability to bowl in all three phases of the game.
