IPL 2022 Captains: KKR, RCB, PBKS get their captaincy candidates –Kolkata Knight Riders broke their bank to sign Indian top-order batter Shreyas Iyer. Having led Delhi Capitals before in this competition, it seems certain that Iyer will be leading the Knights in IPL 2022. Speaking about who the new captain will be, KKR CEO Venky Mysore said “We have got our man, we are very happy with what we have bought at the auction. Don’t want to give out any names but everyone knows who he is.“
As for Royal Challengers Bangalore, they have signed former South African skipper for INR 7 crore. Star pacer Harshal Patel dropped a hint about captaincy by saying “I think Faf Du Plessis can be a great choice, he has successfully led South Africa and can be a great choice.”

Punjab Kings, on the other hand, have two captaincy options in Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan, but it seems that the latter will get the nod on grounds of seniority. Besides that, Dhawan also has led Sunrisers Hyderabad previously in this competition. PBKS co-owner Ness Wadia said about the issue “We have got our captain, we are very happy with the squad we have picked, We will make the captaincy announcement soon.”
