The 25-year-old lad from Bangalore is in red-hot form and is picking up wickets for fun – be it in the Indian Premier League, the domestic circuit or in international cricket. He further raised his value on Wednesday, courtesy of a sublime spell against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

After scalping two wickets first ODI, Krishna was given another chance in the second match of the three-match series and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He picked up four wickets in his nine overs, three of which happened to be maidens, whilst conceding only 12 runs in the process. Brandon King, Darren Bravo, skipper Nicholas Pooran and Kemar Roach were all victims of Krishna’s pace and seam movement.

Since the final of the 2021 IPL, the Karnataka-based player has played four matches and has done well in every single game, picking up a total of 11 wickets. In his last three ODI games, two against West Indies and one against South Africa, Krishna has scalped 9 wickets.

Given his recent numbers, it seems very obvious that almost all ten franchises will be keen on having him on their roster. He also has experience of playing in his competition, having played a total of 34 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders, in which he has picked up 30 wickets.

  • Prasidh Krishna took a five-wicket haul in his first-class debut for Karnataka in 2015.
  • He was Karnataka’s leading wicket-taker in the 2018/19 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
  • Krishna initially went unsold in the IPL 2018 auction, but was roped in as Kamlesh Nagarkoti’s replacement by KKR.
  • He picked up 10 wickets in seven appearances in IPL 2018, which made the Kolkata Knight Riders management retain him in their squad.
  • Krishna has played 34 matches for the Knights, in which he has picked up 30 wickets at an economy rate of 9.26 runs per over and an average of 38.40.
  • The 25-year-old got a national team call up back in March of 2021 for the ODI series against England.
  • Krishna picked up four wickets in his ODI debut against the Three Lions.
  • He happens to be the only Indian bowler to have scalped a four-wicket haul in his ODI debut.
