Having said that, he has already proved his mettle in the IPL and might fetch a mega-money bid in the upcoming IPL 2022 auction, which will be held on 12th and 13th February at Bengaluru. According to former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra, it will not be a surprise if Tyagi bags anything between INR 3-5 crores.

“Kartik Tyagi – he missed the last year slightly due to injury but he was excellent the year prior to that. If I have money in my purse, Kartik Tyagi will be one of my important picks, I won’t mind spending 3-5 crores on him,” said Chopra, as per quotes in News18.

Indian fast bowler who can bowl at 140 kph, bowl with the new and the old ball, can bowl the yorkers, bouncers, slower ones. I mean what else do you need? Kartik Tyagi is that unique bowler who can bowl at all stages. He reminds me a little bit about Prasidh Krishna,”

  • Kartik Tyagi was India’s second-highest wicket taker in the 2020 ICC Under-19 World Cup.
  • The 21-year-old made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2020.
  • Tyagi came into limelight last year, courtesy of his sublime spell against Punjab Kings. Whilst defending only four runs in his last over, he conceded just one run.
  • He made his Ranji Trophy debut for Uttar Pradesh at only 16 years of age.
