IPL 2021: Revealed! RCB’s ‘Class of 2021’ for IPL Phase 2 in UAE – Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set for the upcoming IPL 2021 Phase 2, after finalising their squad for the tournament over the past week. Virat Kohli’s side were hit majorly by players pulling out, but have done well to recruit some quality T20 stars from across the globe to fill in their squad. RCB would hope that the team can build onto their good form from Phase 1 and mount a serious title challenge, and end their wait for the title.

Royal Challengers Bangalore released their official squad for the IPL 2021 Phase 2, having done some quick fixes in the market to get in replacements. Virat Kohli’s side lost as many as five overseas stars with New Zealand’s Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn unavailable due to the tour of Bangladesh while Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams and Kane Richardson declared themselves unavailable for the second leg of the tournament.

Head coach Simon Katich also resigned with Mike Hesson now in charge of the franchise and Sri Lankan duo Wanindu Hasranga and Dushmantha Chameera were brought in as initial replacements. The franchise also roped in Tim David and George Garton, after their impressive performances in the UK over the last few months. RCB’s other foreigners include AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, Kyle Jamieson and Daniel Christian.

RCB will resume their campaign at third place, having won five of their seven games in Phase 1. Virat Kohli’s side were the team to beat as they basked on their impressive batting order, with Glenn Maxwell, Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers all chipping in with runs, while Harshal Patel led the purple cap list with 17 wickets.
