IPL 2021: RCB’s Daniel Sams takes break from cricket due to mental health issues- Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams who represented RCB in the IPL 2021, requested Cricket Australia for a break from international cricket citing personal and mental reasons. CA accepted the request and kept the all-rounder out of the squad against West Indies.
CA on May 17 announced a 23-member squad for the limited-overs tour of West Indies. Sams was part of Australia’s T20I squad in the New Zeland series prior to IPL. The 28-year-old was part of the T20I series which the Australian team played in New Zealand ahead of the 14th edition of IPL.
Sams was has been travelling from one bio-bubble to another in the last few months. He was Tested positive for COVID-19 during IPL 2021 and he also recovered from it to play matches for Virat Kohli’s RCB. The left-arm pacer played two matches as the league got suspended due to rising cases of COVID-19 in India and breach of bio-bubble created for IPL.

Daniel Sams made his international debut for Australia in a T20I match against India in Sydney in December 2020. He had an extraordinary season at the Big Bash League for Sydney Thunder before getting his maiden call up for Australia. So far the talisman has played just four T20Is in which he picked four wickets. In addition to that, he has also scored 54 runs at a strike rate of 234.78.
