IPL 2021 Purple Cap: DC’s Avesh Khan joins RR’s Chris Morris at 2nd spot; RCB’s Harshal Patel tops leaderboard- Delhi Capitals pacer Avesh Khan has joined Chris Morris at No.2 spot in Purple Cap table. He took the 14th wicket to reclaim the 2nd spot with RR pacer.

Earlier today, Rajasthan Royal’s allrounder Chris Morris jumped to 2nd place in the Purple Cap race and joined DC’s Avesh Khan. He took 3 wickets against SRH to jump two places above in the Purple Cap table. He has now taken 14 wickets in IPL 2021. He is only two wickets behind RCB’s Harshal Patel.

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad key spinner Rashid Khan entered the top 5 race in the Purple Cap Cap race. He completed 10 wickets in IPL after an early wicket of Yashashvi Jaiswal against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.

Chennai Super Kings allrounder Sam Curran has jumped to 6th spot in the IPL 2021 Purple Cap after taking 3 wickets against Mumbai Indians at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on Saturday. He gave away just 34 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Curran now has 6 wickets to his name in IPL 2021.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s costliest pacer Kyle Jamieson has broken into top 10 list of Purple Cap race. He took a couple of wickets in the match- Prabhsimran Singh and Nicholas Pooran. It is notable that Mohd Shami of Punjab Kings, who is also playing this match, is placed in the top 10 list.

Rules for IPL Purple Cap

  1. The award is given to the leading wicket-taker of the IPL season.
  2. The bowler with the most wickets in the tournament during the season would wear the Purple Cap while in the field.
  3. In case of a tie, the Purple Cap is given to the bowler with a superior economy rate.
