IPL 2021 – IPL Schedule, Venues and Dates: This piece of news should be music to all the IPL fans. The IPL Governing Council chairman has declared that IPL GC is meeting shortly to decide on IPL 2021 Schedule, Venues and dates for 14th edition of the league.
The IPL GC will also address all concerns raised by management of Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. The Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed to InsideSport.co the meeting to be held shortly in Ahmedabad.
The said meeting will decide the exact dates, IPL venues and schedules for IPL 2021.
“Date for IPL governing council meeting has not been finalised yet. It could be in person or may be through video. It’s yet to be finalised. We will let you know. But it will be held very shortly. All the concerns of the franchisee regarding the venues and the itinerary will be addressed during the agenda of the meeting,” IPL Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel told Inside News over the phone.
IPL 2021: No one else than IPL GC authorized to take final calls on the venues says Brijesh Patel
IPL Chairman said that only the Governing Council was authorised to come out with a final list of venues and everything will be considered before arriving at a decision during the meeting. “There is no point in speculating about the venues. All decisions are taken only during the meeting. All I can say is nothing on venues has been decided as yet and it will only be finalised after consultation with and listening to the concerns of the franchisees. We are adopting a wait and watch policy as of now.”
IPL sources indicated that the meeting could be held shortly after the completion of the fourth Test match and a final decision on whether it will be physically attended by members or be held through video conference will also be taken soon.
IPL 2021: Speculation rife BCCI will only use limited venues for IPL 2021
As per the BCCI’s plans, IPL 2021 will only be conducted in 6 cities i.e Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. This has led to lot of heartburn with RR, SRH and Punjab team.
The left-out franchises are asking BCCI for some formal communication in regard to the IPL Dates, Venues and other important matters.
“We have written to the IPL asking them to throw light on how they have decided on these venues and why also have they decided not to hold the IPL in Punjab, said Satish Menon, CEO of Punjab Kings.
Now with IPL Chairman clearing the air that the concerns of the franchise will be addressed at IPL GC, the peeved franchises can breathe easy.
