IPL 2021 Phase 2: With the CPL done and dusted, a host of IPL stars have now turned their heads around to the UAE, with the IPL 2021 Phase 2 all set to kick off this weekend. After KKR and SRH welcomed their stars back home, Delhi Capitals saw the return of Shimron Hetmyer, who had a mixed season with the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Now back in the UAE, the West Indian superstar will hope to get back into his groove with the IPL also serving as preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

IPL 2021: Inconsistent Shimron Hetmyer Delhi Capitals’ biggest headache, can he turn things around in UAE?
Hetmyer has arrived in the UAE and will join up with the squad after two-day isolation following his bubble to bubble transfer from the CPL to IPL 2021. Hetmyer hasn’t fired in all cylinders for Delhi Capitals yet, since signing up for the franchise in the auction before last season. In six matches this year, the West Indian left-hander has managed just 84 runs, which includes a stellar 53* off 25 balls against former team RCB. Hetmyer has shown his ability in patches for Delhi Capitals in the 18 games he has played for the franchise, but the West Indian will have to take more responsibility when IPL 2021 resumes.
IPL 2021 Phase 2: With Shreyas Iyer back, Hetmyer, along with Marcus Stoinis are likely to be the team’s dedicated finishers, and the onus will be on him to get his team to a fighting total o get them across the finish line. Capitals will expect greater consistency and Hetmyer will be hoping to repay the faith shown in him by the franchise over the course of time.
