IPL 2021: ECB confirms Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer ruled out of IPL 2021- England and Wales Cricket Board on Friday confirmed that Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer will sit out of the entire edition of IPL 2021. ”It is expected that he will return to cricket in the next fortnight if he can continue to bowl and prepare pain-free,” ECB said.

“Archer returned to bowling this week with higher intensity, and the ECB and Sussex medical teams will continue to monitor his progress. Archer will now step up his training regime starting next week and will be in full training with Sussex. It is expected that he will return to cricket in the next fortnight if he can continue to bowl and prepare pain-free. The ECB will confirm which matches he is expected to play in due course,” ECB said in an official press release.

ECB confirms Rajasthan Royals pacer Jofra Archer ruled out of IPL

Archer underwent successful surgery to his hand on March 31. As per ECB, “A fragment of glass was removed during the operation to his middle finger on his right hand,” after which he completed two weeks of rehabilitation.

Archer had suffered a cut to his hand while cleaning at his home in January shortly before flying to India to prepare for the Test series.

The ECB’s medical team managed the injury throughout the tour, and it did not impact his availability. A fragment of glass was removed during the operation to his middle finger on his right hand in March.

Besides Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes also suffered an injury and ruled out of IPL 2021. Liam Livingstone also pulled himself out of IPL 2021 after bubble fatigue.

IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals is reportedly going to sign Rassie van der Dussen as Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone’s replacement for the IPL 2021. While Stokes was ruled out due to injury, Livingstone returned home due to bio-bubble fatigue. According to the EspnCricinfo report, the South African is waiting for visa clearance before he can fly to India.

Dussen was in tremendous form in the recently concluded limited-overs series against Pakistan. He scored a couple of fifties and a century.
