IPL 2021 Covid-19 cases: KKR’s Prasidh Krishna, Tim Seifert test positive, tally jumps to 14 – Despite the suspension of IPL 2021 following a string of COVID-19 cases, the numbers have not come to a halt. After CSK’s Mike Hussey tested positive for COVID-19 (now recovered), KKR’s Tim Seifert and Prasidh Krishna have raised the Kolkata Knight Riders’ COVID-19 positive tally to 4 and overall 14. The other two KKR players to contract the virus were Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier. However, apart from 10 players and three staff members, there have been dozens of positive cases among groundsmen in Mumbai and Delhi.

IPL 2021: List of Covid-19 positive players; Prasidh Krishna (KKR)- Kolkata Knight Riders and India pacer Prasidh Krishna has tested positive for COVID-19. He is now the fourth player from the franchise after Varun Chakaravarthy, Sandeep Warrier and Tim Seifert to test positive for coronavirus.

Speaking to ANI, sources in the know of developments confirmed that the pacer has tested COVID-19 positive. “He is down with COVID-19. The results have come in and he tested positive,” the source said.

IPL 2021: List of Covid-19 positive players; Devdutt Padikkal (RCB)– The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener was in quarantine at his home in Bengaluru after testing positive for Covid-19 on March 22. He has since joined the RCB camp after testing negative for COVID-19. “He’s healthy, feeling better and raring to go,” said RCB in a tweet.

IPL 2021: List of Covid-19 positive players; Daniel Sams (RCB)– According to a statement released by RCB, Sams had returned a negative test upon his arrival in Chennai on April 3. A second test on April 7, however, returned a positive result. Sams has since gone into isolation at a designated medical facility.

Michael Hussey (CSK batting coach): After the IPL 2021 was suspended indefinitely, CSK’s batting coach Michael Hussey tested positive for COVID-19. He was airlifted to Chennai where he would be monitored. As per the latest reports, he has tested negative in the first test but he will need to return another negative test to be eligible to be on a flight. He will join the rest of the Australian contingent in the Maldives.

IPL 2021: List of Covid-19 positive players; Wriddhiman Saha (SRH): Wriddhiman Saha was tested positive just hours before the clash against Mumbai Indians. The entire SRH squad was put in isolation following the update.

Tim Seifert (KKR): Kolkata Knight Riders’ Tim Seifert failed two RT-PCR tests before taking the flight back to New Zealand. After the IPL 2021 was suspended, he became the latest victim of the virus. He is also KKR’s third player to contract the virus. He will now stay in India and will be monitored for next 7-10 days.
