IPL 2021 auction: Top 5 uncapped players who can be hot targets in auction- The auction for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is almost around the corner. The franchises have also announced their list of retentions and releases for the upcoming season and have been busy with planning for the new season.

The mini-auction will be held in Chennai of February 18 and is going to be a grand event as a mix of uncapped and experienced players will go under the hammer. In this article, we take a look at 5 such uncapped players who will be on the radar of IPL teams and can earn the ‘big bucks’.

#1. Mohammed Azharuddeen: The youngster from Kerala caught everyone’s attention with his ravishing hundred in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. His unbeaten 54-ball-137 against Mumbai was also the first hundred ever by a Kerala batsman in T20 cricket. His fearless batting and impressive stroke play may lead him to a good franchise in the upcoming IPL season.

#2. Chetan Sakariya

Apart from his uncanny ability to bowl clever variations and stem the flow of runs, Sakariya is a wicket-taking bowler who can chip in with crucial wickets too- something IPL fracnhises have on their whishlist.

Sakariya bowled the second-highest number of dot balls (65) in the recently-concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The left-arm pacer finished with 12 wickets, which included a fifer, and had an economy rate of 4.90, which was impressive, as he bowled in the powerplay and at the death.

# 3 Avi Barot

The former U-19 captain grabbed the limelight with his whirlwind knock against Goa in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The Saurashtra batsman played a 122-run knock in just 53 balls and laid the foundation of his team’s easy win. His strike-rate of 185 is the 2nd highest in the tournament. His ability to score quick runs can fin him a good side to showcase his talent in IPL 2021.

# 4 Ashutosh Aman

At the ripe old age of 34, Ashutosh Aman has ample experience under his belt. The 2019 Domestic Cricketer of the Year award winner will be on a few IPL teams’ radars, as he finished as the highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The Bihar skipper possesses a bag of tricks and has bamboozled batsmen in the tournament more often than not. He finished with 16 wickets in six wickets at an economy rate of just 5.08 runs per over.

# 5 Arjun Tendulkar

Bowling all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar might be a sought after name in the upcoming mini-auction. He played the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament for Mumbai earlier last month and has been training with Mumbai Indians for a few years. To be eligible to feature in the IPL auction pool, a player has to play at least one match for the senior domestic team.
