IPL 2021 Auction: Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Dawid Malan, Jason Roy, keep a eye on these 4 top players at IPL auctions: The much-awaited mini-auctions of the cash-rich Indian Premier League is scheduled to place on February 18 in Chennai. All the eight-franchises will look forward to buying key players, who have been released from respective squads, depending on their remaining purse post retention. There are several players who are up for grabs in the T20 League. Here we take a look at the top six players who may attract big bucks and could well prove to be the game-changers:

Steve Smith

The former Rajasthan Royals skipper has been released from his IPL franchise. Unlike previous seasons, the star player was not retained this season owing to his poor form in IPL 13. Even though he failed to do well in the previous season, he could still prove his worth. The 31-year-old has so far played 95 IPL matches and amassed 2,333 runs with a strike rate of 129. He was bought at a price of Rs 12.5 crore in the previous season.

Glenn Maxwell

The Australian all-rounder was released from Kings XI Punjab after his poor-run in IPL 13. The attacking batsman is back in form, and his stats in the recently concluded BBL are enough to prove why you cannot miss out such a player from your squad in the T20I tournaments. He has scored 1515 runs in 82 IPL matches with a strike rate of 154. The 33-year-old was bought by KXIP for Rs 10.75 crore in 2020.

Chris Morris

The former Royal Challengers Bangalore player Chris Morris will also be worth a good buy in the upcoming IPL Auctions. The South Africa pacer has scalped 80 wickets in 70 IPL matches. He can bowl both in the powerplay and the death overs. The 33-year-old was bought for Rs 10 crore, and the RCB might use RTM to buy this player.

Sandeep Lamichanne

Lamichanne is one of those players who could prove to the gamechanger in the slog overs. He had picked 13 wickets in IPL 2019 but owing to the conditions in UAE the youngster was under bowled. Though the leg break googly bowler has lost favour from his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals, he could his prove his worth in the sub-continent conditions. He was bought for Rs 2 crore in the previous season.

Jason Roy

The England batsman Jason Roy managed to score 355 runs in 12 innings in the Big Bash League. He could fill the role of an opening batsman for teams that are unable to get good starts. Bought for Rs 1.5 crore, the 30-year-old was ruled out of the previous season due to an injury. With Alex Hales coming back to form in BBL, Roy will eye to retain his position in the national side with a good IPL season ahead of the T20 World Cup 2021.

Kings XI Punjab has the highest salary cap available while Sunrisers Hyderabad has the least amount (Rs 10.7 crore) left in their purse.
