IPL 2021 Auction: IPL franchise declare ‘Bengal’s Vivek Singh now on radar’ after hitting 100 in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20

IPL 2021 Auction – With IPL 2021 auction likely to take place on February 11, all the eight franchises – CSK, MI, DC, RCB, SRH, KXIP, KKR and RR are keeping a keen eye on mini-IPL Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. After first two round of matches, one batsman who has attracted franchises attention is Bengal’s opening batsman Vivek Singh. After hitting brilliant 50 against Odisha, Vivek ended up hitting 64-ball hundred against Jharkhand on Tuesday.

“Really liked the way Vivek batted today. Good the match was getting broadcasted and we could watch his innings. He will now be on our radar”, said one of the franchise talent scout on Vivek’s innings.

Notably, left-handed batsman, Vivek smashed unbeaten 64-ball 100 (13 fours, 3 sixes) on Tuesday as Bengal defeated Ishan Kishan-led Jharkhand by 16 runs. It was Vivek’s maiden century in the shortest format of the game and he dedicated it to his father.

Also, Vivek led Bengal’s batting charge in the first game of the tournament as well, as the 27-year-old smashed unbeaten fifty against Odisha owing to which Bengal won the game by nine wickets.

It goes without saying that Vivek Singh has definitely raised some interest with his swasbuckling performance in the ongoing 2021 season of Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 and if he keep up his current form, the IPL franchises will be keen to get him on board.

The highlight of his quickfire innings was a six which a fan caught in his beer.

The 33-year-old will be on every teams’ radar and might even become the most expensive player, currently held by Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Pat Cummins. And it is rightly so. Malan in December created history by attaining the highest-ever rating points for batsmen in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.
