IPL 2021 Auction – Good news for DC as Ishant Sharma continues his good form, bags 2 wickets against AP in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20: Delhi Capitals speedster Ishant Sharma continued his superb form in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament as he bagged two wickets in Delhi’s dominating six-wickets win over Andhra Pradesh. The 32-year-old was highly economical in his 4 overs as he gave away just 17 runs during his spell.
Notably, Ishant was brilliant in his previous game as well as he picked two wickets against Mumbai and gave away just 16 runs in 3.1 overs as Delhi won the game by 76 runs.
It is worth mentioning that Sharma was ruled out of the IPL 2020 campaign with an abdominal muscle tear. The bowler could feature in only one match for his side and that was against Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 29. He went wicketless in that match and gave away 26 runs in three overs.
However, with the next edition of the IPL just three months away, Sharma’s outstanding return is a positive sign for the Delhi Capitals. The team will not only be able to retain the right-arm pacer but also be able to benefit from his services in the 14th edition of the lucrative league.
Talking about Delhi vs Andhra Pradesh, after opting to bowl first, Delhi rode on Pradeep Sangwan’s three-wicket and two wickets each by Ishant, Simarjeet Singh and Lalit Yadav to restrict Andhra Pradesh to 124-9.
Chasing the easy target, Delhi lost four wickets as Anuj Rawat (33) and Himmat Singh 32* help them cross the finishing line in just 17 overs.
