IPL 2021: Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams has recovered from COVID-19 and has joined Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bio-bubble

IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Daniel Sams has recovered from COVID-19 and has joined RCB’s bio-bubble after testing negative for the virus thrice. The Australian tested positive earlier this month was ruled out of the first two matches of the season, dealing a blow to the Virat Kohli-led side. But, now he will be available for selection if he passes the fitness test.

“We are pleased to inform that Royal Challengers Bangalore, All- Rounder Daniel Sams, has joined the RCB bio-bubble on 17th April 2021 with negative reports for COVID-19. RCB medical team was in constant touch with Sams to ensure his safety and declared him fit to join the team after all the required examinations as part of the BCCI protocols,” RCB said in a statement.

Daniel Sams returned a positive COVID-19 test the 2nd time he was tested and was isolated from the team. As per BCCI’s SOP, he was required to spend 10-day in isolation in a designated area outside the team’s bio-bubble. Sams became the second RCB player to test positive for the virus after Devdutt Padikkal, who has already recovered and rejoined the team.

Padikkal has tested negative while Axar Patel is recovering from the COVID-19. Nitish Rana, on the other hand, has joined the KKR team in Chennai after testing negative for COVID-19 twice.

RCB have won both their games so far this season and the side will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday here at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
