KL Rahul blasted Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers out of the park on Thursday evening. Batting with his customary poise and elegance, Rahul scored an unbeaten 132 off just 69 deliveries, eclipsing a host of records on the way. Riding his luck after Virat Kohli dropped him twice when he was on 83 (55 balls) and 89 (59 balls), Rahul launched an unbelievable assault taking 49 runs off the next 14 balls he faced. Laced with 14 boundaries and 7 sixes, Rahul’s innings saw him eclipse Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest Indian batsman to score 2000 runs in the IPL. In the process, his 132* is now the highest ever score by a captain in an IPL game, and also the highest ever by an Indian batsman.
Here, Rahul opens up on InsideSport.co AMSTRAD FACE2FACE Series to talk about KXIP, his cricketing journey, how he is settling in as a captain, and also his special bond with KXIP head coach Anil Kumble.
