The Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) season has begun on a high note with first two games setting the tone for the matches to come. More than 200 brands are advertising on IPL 2020. But an interesting turn has emerged – that one is not enough for the brands especially when it comes to the team sponsorships.
IPL 2020 : Multi-team sponsorship strategy opted by the brands
Till the last year it was only very few brands like Jio, Dream11 who opted for MULTI-TEAM association formula, but this year it has almost become the norm. Not only JIO and Dream11 but various others decided to opt for the multi-team sponsorship strategy for IPL 2020.
One is not enough for these brands this IPL –
– TV9 is Prinicpal Sponsor for two IPL teams Rajasthan Royals & Kolkata Knight Riders
– Dream11 is fantasy partner for 6 IPL teams
– Jio has partnered with multiple teams as Sleeve of Right chest sponsor
There are many others who have opted for the same strategy to get associated with MULTIPLE teams to gain maximum visibility for their brands.
IPL 2020 : Kingfisher started the trend with OOH LA LA hummed by multiple IPL teams
The Indian Premier League (IPL) made its debut in India in 2008 and Kingfisher was the first brand to start leveraging multiple IPL teams to narrate their brand message. The Kingfisher OOH LA LA signature tune was hummed by all be it RCB, CSK, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians or others.
The world’s top cricketers including Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, AB De Villers and Chris Gayle all came together to sing the signature brand tune of Kingfisher.
