Chennai Super King’s opener Shane Watson has reversed his poor form with back-to-back fifties in Indian Premier League 2020. After smashing unbeaten 83 runs against Kings XI Punjab in his previous match, Watson once again shone with the bat as he scored 50 off 40 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders in the match no. 21 of IPL 2020 on Wednesday.

The Australian hit 6 fours and a six enroute his half-century.

Interestingly, Watson had been under scrutiny in Chennai’s slow start to the season, having scored 4, 33, 14 and 1 in his first four innings of the tournament.

But those questions were put to rest in emphatic fashion when the 39-year-old smashed 83 runs from 53 balls including three sixes and 11 fours against KXIP and now Watson’s latest fifty against KKR shows that he still has plenty to offer in the shortest format.

Overall, the CSK opener has scored 185 runs in six games so far at a strike rate of 131.20.
However, Watson’s fifty against Kolkata went in vain as Chennai lost the game by 10 runs.

Chasing a modest 168-runs target, MS Dhoni-led side were restricted to 157-5 in 20 overs.

CSK are currently fifth on the points table with four points from six games, while the victory saw Dinesh Karthik-led KKR move to third place in the chart. They have six points from five games.
