Kieron Pollard & Hardik Pandya completely destroyed KingsXI Punjab attack in the last 5 overs of the match. ‘No Mercy’ seems to be theme for the world’s most dangerous batting duo in the death overs. No team seems to have any answers for the way Pollard and Hardik are batting in the last 4-5 overs.
89 runs were scored in the last five overs, just like it was the night earlier against RCB.
The duo completely ransack KXIP by scoring 89 off the last five overs, his unbeaten 47 off 20 balls exposed huge leak in the Kings XI Punjab attack that lacked a death bowler. They had seemingly managed their bowlers so poorly that offspinner K Gowtham, picked ahead of legspinner M Ashwin, bowled the final over in the first innings, leaked four sixes to Pollard and Pandya.
Pollard finished unbeaten on a 20-ball 47 and Hardik on 11-ball 30 as MI powered to 191 for 4. Such was the power of this batting duo that within no time match was taken away from KingsXI Punjab and they could never comeback in the game.
“Hardik and Pollard always back themselves to get those runs in the end” said Rohit during the post-match presentation via host broadcaster Star Sports.
“They (Hardik and Pollard) have done that on many occasions. It is nice to have them in form.”
IPL 2020 : Is Mumbai Indians the most dangerous batting unit in the death overs ?
Just a match ago Mumbai Indians had smashed Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bowlers for 79 runs in the last four overs.
They did the same on Thursday night with the power hitting by Pollard and Pandya. Earlier Rohit Sharma paced his 70 runs innings beautifully to give a launch pad to Pollard and Pandya to go for the kill and they did the same with ’No Mercy’ to maul KXIP.
Sachin Tendulkar – 191 is a very competitive total on this ground. Brilliantly paced innings by @ImRo45. An off spinner to bowl against
@hardikpandya7 and @KieronPollard55 in the 20th over! Man facepalming\

Aakash Chopra – When #MI win, they do it in style. Second convincing for the defending champions. The common factor in both their victories—Rohit scored in both the games. #IPL2020

Irfan Pathan – It was an above par score by @mipaltan ! Kudos to #RohitSharma’s inning. It wasn’t easy early on with the ball moving around. He did the hard bit! Well done #MI on winning this game. #RohitSharma #pollard #hardik #bumrah #chahar #Pattinson

Mumbai Indians will next lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. But with the way Rohit is batting and smashing mindset both Pandya and Pollard are in, it will be extremely difficult for any attack to stop them.
