Indian fast bowler Kartik Tyagi, who starred for the U-19 team during the World Cup earlier this year, made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2020 game against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.
Interestingly, Tyagi took a wicket in his very first over of IPL as he sent dangerous MI opener Quinton de Kock back to the pavilion. The 19-year-old banged in short and at the stumps and de Kock, in an attempt to pull, top-edged the ball which went straight up before wicketkeeper Jos Buttler catch it with ease.
Meanwhile, fans and cricket pundits were all praise for Tyagi and they applauded the youngster on Twitter:

Interestingly, Tyagi, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, had picked up 11 wickets in 6 matches during the ICC U-19 World Cup 2020 and was consistently one of the fastest bowlers in the tournament as India marched to the finals before losing to Bangladesh.
He was roped in by the Royals for Rs 1.3 crore in the player auction in December last year and is the latest U-19 player to make his IPL debut this season after his India teammates Priyam Garg, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravi Bishnoi received their IPL debut cap earlier in IPL 2020.
